Controls of our producers

When producing Gusti Leather products, values such as animal protection, sustainability, and human rights are our top priorities. We adhere to the international SA8000 standard, which aims to improve working conditions for employees worldwide. In addition, we have taken our own measures to monitor occupational health and safety, as well as contractual agreements against child labor. Through our local employees, who visit our producers’ facilities at least once a month without prior notice, we can thoroughly check our business partners.

Control Process:

The general procedure of our inspections involves checking the wet areas where chemicals are used to treat the leather. Additionally, the health and safety regulations for workers handling chemicals are monitored. According to our guidelines, these workers must wear gloves and boots for protection. Another point that is checked in all departments is child labor. Our goal is to combat child labor under the age of 15 in India. On this matter, each producer must sign a contract stipulating that no children are employed under any circumstances.

The dates for our inspections are randomly selected, but we ensure that visits are evenly distributed throughout the month. Furthermore, our local employees carry identification in case anyone wishes to verify them.
